Duskline has no account and no server. Your memories live on your phone. This page is the same list the app carries under Settings, on a screen called "What leaves this phone".

Your memories stay

Everything you keep, from workouts and notes to photos, routes and settings, lives in Duskline's own storage on your iPhone and rides in your own iCloud backup, beside your Notes and Photos. Your backup is yours. Nobody here takes a copy, because there is nowhere here to take one to.

There is no sign-in, no account, and no way for anyone, including the maker of this app, to read what you have written.

What leaves this phone

Three things ask something of the network, and this is all of them. Each is caused by something you did, carries a place or a moment in time and never a memory, and simply goes missing when you are offline. Nothing calls out while the app sits in your pocket.

The map asks for the ground you look at

Tiles are fetched as you pan, so the areas you look at are requested from a tile server. Never a memory, a note, or a photo. Offline there are no tiles, and your lights still draw on the dark. Tiles kept for next time are left out of your backup, because where you looked is not something to keep forever. A share card and the home screen widget draw their ground from those same tiles.

A place gets its name once

One coordinate, to ask what a place is called. The answer is kept and never asked again, including when the answer is that the place has no name. Imported workouts ask once for a whole cluster, an area you trained in, rather than once each, and the same answer sets the memory's clock to that place's time zone. A name you type yourself wins, and asks nobody.

The sky over a capture

One coordinate and one moment in time, to ask what the weather was doing. Once, and the answer is kept. A workout that recorded its own weather asks nobody. Where Apple Weather answered, the app shows the Apple Weather mark and a link to Apple's data sources, as Apple requires.

Apple Health is read here, and only read

With your permission, Duskline reads the workouts you have already recorded, and their routes, so you do not have to log anything twice. It writes nothing back, and what it reads stays on your phone. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings, under Health and then Data Access & Devices.

Photos and location

Photos you attach are copied into Duskline's own storage and go nowhere else. If you allow it, the app can offer photos you took during a workout, matched by time on your phone. Location, if you allow it, places a memory you are logging by hand. Neither permission is required.

What never happens

No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no third party watching any of this. No tracking across apps or websites, and nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing running. Nothing carrying a note, a photo, or anything read from Health ever leaves the device.

Purchases

Duskline is free to use, with one optional purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment details never touch this app. Restoring a purchase asks Apple, not us.

Deleting your data

You can delete any memory at any time, and deleting Duskline removes everything it stored on the phone. Copies inside your own iCloud backup are yours to manage in your iCloud settings, the same as any other app's.

Children

Duskline collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If the list above ever changes, this page changes with it, along with the screen inside the app that says the same thing.
